About Brian A. Wilkins

Brian A. Wilkins is the founder and administrator of Operation Nation and all its subsidiary sites, including the OP-NAT EYE and Black Eye News. Originally from Marshalltown, Iowa, Brian first moved to the Phoenix, AZ area in 1996. He left in 1998 and lived in various cities across the country working in radio broadcasting and as a disc jockey in night clubs. In 2004, Brian returned to Phoenix to complete his bachelor's degree at Arizona State University and attend law school thereafter. He was scheduled to graduate first in May 2008, but was fired from his job at A.M. 1060 KDUS "The Fan" in Phoenix, which forced him to drop out of school. After successfully suing for wrongful termination, Brian was then back on track to graduate in December 2008. But his whole life would change forever the night of July 22, 2008, when he was arrested for protecting himself in his own home. Originally charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (a Class 3 felony) and several other charges which he faced over 40 years in prison, Brian was ultimately forced by a Maricopa County judge, prosecutor, and public defender to sign a "plea bargain" for disorderly conduct in March 2009, and he has been fighting it ever since. Rendered homeless and jobless as a result of the "felony conviction," Brian has dedicated his life to not only getting the conviction overturned, but helping others who are similarly situated.

Brian documented the nearly two months of pre-trial incarceration he endured in the blog series "55 Days In Maricopa County Jail," which you can read HERE (updated 9/17/2011: Habeas Corpus Denied...though State of Arizona admitted there were no victims on March 3, 2010...but prosecuted Wilkins on charges of assaulting "multiple victims"). He also keeps everyone up to date on the appeals process and the civil suits against the perpetrating government entities. He represented himself throughout much of the 3 1/2 years, except for the time (during the initial prosecution) the State of Arizona denied him his Sixth Amendment right to do so.

Brian is well versed in economic and other social issues and believes the only way the United States can truly live up to it's "land of the free" moniker is abolition of the Federal Reserve banking system, removing money as a factor in the electoral process, recognition of all personal freedoms to American citizens, repeal of the Eleventh Amendment and a complete re-construction of the U.S. judicial system and process.
